Today is the only day this week with cold weather, reaching a high of just 56 degrees. It’s also quite windy. For the rest of the week, temperatures will rise into the 80s. The living room feels dark; I suspect the clouds have covered the sky, and there’s a smell of rain in the air. We decided to bring Merlin inside, anticipating the rain. I empathize with him—he truly loves being outdoors. However, the weather will be much more pleasant later in the week, allowing him to enjoy his time outside again.
The weekend was quite busy. With Tommy having a day off, our weekend began on Friday. In the morning, Tommy had his bloodwork done, then we returned home for his therapy session while Karissa participated in a Zoom meeting regarding registration. As she is still contemplating her major, the counselor provided suggestions and rescheduled their discussion for the 28th. She has ultimately chosen to pursue university studies with a concentration in business and marketing. So on the 28th, she will finalize her classes for the upcoming fall semester.
After her Zoom meeting, Tommy and I left to get the car washed and his haircut appointment. We then headed to Smith’s for some dinner items and made a stop at Walgreens for Kel’s medication. Later, Kel and I went to Walmart to pick up a few things.
On Saturday, Tommy and I kicked off the day with a workout. After that, we joined Karissa and visited Suits Unlimited, where Tommy bought himself a new black suit. With some time to spare before Karissa’s hearing aid appointment, we decided to go to the mall. We browsed a few stores and then headed to Sam’s Club, where Tommy got a one-year membership. We spent some time walking around and had a meal at the food court. Unfortunately, we received the sad news that our friend’s mother had passed away. She was truly a lovely woman.
Following our time at Sam’s Club, we went to Costco for Karissa’s hearing aid appointment. They replaced all the electronic components of her hearing aid, and it’s now functioning properly. Afterward, we did some shopping and then returned home.
On Sunday, Tommy and I visited the Bio Park, where we enjoyed a walk and took some photos. The farm was open, allowing us to see the cute baby goats. The flowers were in full bloom, creating a beautiful and fragrant atmosphere. We definitely got our exercise from all the walking. Unfortunately, Kel couldn’t join us as she wasn’t feeling well.
After exploring the park, we went to the aquarium, where we watched the otters, stingrays, and various fish. We had dinner at Sadie’s before heading over to the hockey rink for Tommy’s game. I realized too late that I forgot to bring a jacket, and since it gets quite cold in the rink, I ended up sitting in the viewing area behind the glass. It was a good game, and Tommy played well, assisting on a goal, even though he lost his stick and accidentally shot the puck out of the rink.
Right now, it’s quite dark outside, and it’s raining. I’m working on a deep cloning function in my code, hoping to finish it later today. It’s lunchtime, and I’m unsure what to eat. I have some Korean noodle ramen that sounds appealing, but I’m also considering a Carnation breakfast drink that could replace a meal. I’m torn, as I worry that if I opt for the Carnation drink, I might feel hungry later.
Alexis is currently mopping the kitchen floor. I’m not quite sure why she chose to do it during lunchtime, but here we are. I’ll have to wait until she finishes before I can grab a bite to eat. I’ve settled on having the Korean noodles, since, as Tommy aptly put it, just relying on the Carnation breakfast drink can’t be enough for lunch.
I took a moment to add some pictures to my physical journal. Typically, I only include ephemera and photos in that journal, as I prefer to write here instead.
Yesterday, we purchased some popcorn, and I have a quarter of a bag remaining. I left it in the kitchen overnight, but when Karissa was tidying up today, she returned the popcorn to me because it didn’t align with her clean aesthetic. Haha.
I have a little more of the function for the deep clone. I still need to handle the objects so I’m not done yet with this function.
function deepClone(obj) { // 1. Handle null or primitive values if (obj === null || typeof obj !== 'object') { return obj; } // 2. Handle arrays if (Array.isArray(obj)) { const clonedArr = []; for (let i = 0; i < obj.length; i++) { clonedArr[i] = deepClone(obj[i]); } return clonedArr; }
Tomorrow, Tommy, Kel, and I are planning to have tea in the afternoon. As a result, I'm uncertain if I will have time to write, but I will definitely be writing on Wednesday. Kel and I will be riding in with Tommy and will have the car until he finishes work. We haven't made any specific plans for the time before then. Haha. In the meantime, I’m going to prepare some matcha tea and put away the laundry.
