Tommy isn’t feeling well today, so he went to work late. I just started my laundry, including the beach towels and bathing suits from our trip to a friend’s house yesterday, where Kel, Tommy, and I went swimming to plan for our upcoming vacation. I also filled the pill boxes and assigned the girls to clean the kids’ bathroom, which now looks quite good. Tomorrow, we’ll shift our focus to organizing the living and dining rooms in preparation for Tommy’s parents, who are visiting this weekend.
Given that my day is shorter than usual, I’m not sure how much I will be able to accomplish today, or if I’ll even begin to understand the memoize function. I’m considering refreshing my knowledge with some lessons on FreeCodeCamp and seeing how that goes. Although I’m struggling a bit with the memoize function, I’m kind of confident I’ll grasp it eventually.
Last weekend was quite eventful. On Saturday, both Tommy and I overslept and missed our alarm. We had an appointment at the dealership for an oil change at 9 a.m. We didn’t manage to leave the house until around 10:00 or 10:30. Unfortunately, we got caught in traffic on the freeway due to an accident involving a flipped-over trailer blocking the lanes. To make matters worse, another accident occurred during the jam, causing even more delays. We finally arrived at the dealership around noon, and surprisingly, they still took us in—guess they were eager for our business! While waiting, Tommy and I played Magic: The Gathering. I like to think of myself as the best player ever, but in reality, I’m not very good at it. Tommy won both rounds effortlessly. I just can’t seem to figure it out; I struggle to accumulate enough land cards to summon creatures and attack, while he manages to do so before I even get a chance!
After getting the oil changed, we headed over to Costco, where we picked up some essentials as well as a few items for Sunday. Once we returned home, we both felt exhausted and fell asleep. I managed to nap for about half an hour before getting up to play on my computer, while Tommy slept for a few hours. Later, we went back to the store to buy the ingredients needed for a cheese spread for Sunday.
On Sunday, we visited a friend’s house to continue planning for our trip in July/August. We enjoyed snacks, lunch, and dinner there, and for dinner, we made use of the cheese spread we prepared to complement the sourdough bread. After lunch, we went swimming, and later, during dinner, we watched “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.” I was under the impression that Kevin had seen that movie with me, but since it was released on June 4, 2004, that couldn’t be accurate. I must have gone to the theater with Gen instead. I was quite confused because I was so certain, but I suppose my memory from that time wasn’t very clear.I find it frustrating that some of my memories can be inaccurate, as many details feel so hazy to me. While I can recall certain moments with remarkable clarity, other experiences remain just a blur.
It started as a lovely day, but then the clouds rolled in and it began to rain. I actually enjoy the rain; it brings a calming and cozy atmosphere that makes the outdoors still feel pleasant. I should reach out to my family in the Philippines to let them know that I visited my mom. They often express concern and wonder about how she’s doing. For now, I think I’ll make myself some matcha tea and watch a few videos on YouTube. Then I will reach out to my family and say hi.
