Hello! O’Malley has once again claimed his cozy spot beneath my desk. I can’t quite fathom why he favors this tiny nook for his slumber, but I often find myself accidentally stepping on him as I hastily move about, forgetting he’s there. This morning, after Tommy left for work, I indulged in an extra hour of sleep—something much needed, especially on a Monday when motivation tends to be elusive. With my planner set up and a steaming cup of rich coffee by my side, I felt slightly more prepared to tackle the day ahead. Rising at 5 AM, I find that by the time noon approaches, my stomach is already protesting in hunger. But alas, I must wait for another hour before I can enjoy my half sandwich from Dion’s.
Last weekend was nice. We kicked off Friday with a visit to Lexi’s doctor for her appointment. Tommy and I dropped her off and waited. Lexi has an ultrasound scheduled for July and a follow-up consultation with her doctor. It weighs on my mind that her troubling symptoms might stem from her being off her medication, making these tests a vital precaution. Thankfully, her appointment for her medication renewal is just a week away, timed conveniently with Karissa’s dentist visit, both set in the same building, which makes things much easier.
The rest of Friday we relaxed at home. Saturday brought a trip to the movies with Tommy, Alex, and Jay. While the boys were engrossed in their film—one I can’t quite recall—the two of us slipped into the theater to watch the new F1 movie featuring Brad Pitt. The film offered an intriguing peek behind the curtain of the high-octane world of Formula 1 racing. While I’m no expert in motorsports, I found the behind-the-scenes insights fascinating, though I felt the romantic subplot was somewhat forced, as if the writers decided at the last moment that a love story was needed. The so-called ‘villain’ also felt oddly tacked on, emerging into the spotlight rather abruptly in the final scenes, leaving me momentarily confused.
After the movie, we made our way to Costco to pick up dinner, we decided on burgers and fries. Sunday dawned with Tommy performing at a morning concert, and I took a seat to watch the band play, it was quite patriotic. I guess it makes sense since it’s almost the fourth of July. There was food being served, and I found myself almost tempted to sneak a bite. However, I decided to hold off on food until Tommy was done with his concert. Our initial plan to head to Sadie’s for lunch was thwarted by an hour-long wait, so instead, we opted for Dion’s. He encouraged me to order a large sandwich with the foresight of saving half for my meal today, so I ordered a large sandwich.
Afterward, we ventured to a local Mexican grocery store, where we picked up al pastor and chicken for street tacos, my birthday dinner. After our shopping spree, we made a quick stop at Harbor Freight for sandpaper, then swung by Smith’s for a few more items. Upon returning home, we realized we’d forgotten whipped cream, prompting Kel and me to go to Walmart to pick some up. Kel made my cake and Tommy prepared the meat for our tacos. We had cake and ice cream afterward and I was then able to finally open my present!
I finally got a portable photo printer! It’s such a cool gadget! I printed out a cute picture of Sandy, and I can’t wait to print more to fill my journal. I find myself contemplating whether to take it with me on my upcoming trip; part of me suggests leaving it at home to organize my photos once I return, while another part wants to bring the printer. But then, I’d have to bring my journal. And that is more weight in my suitcase. Or rather, my backpack.
Tommy said I have a sticker maker since the printer prints out photos on sticker paper. So he justified it as being a sticker maker.
After spending most of the morning immersed in coding, I took a break to write here. It’s now lunchtime and I’m going to get my sandwich.
Kel received mail that had been unceremoniously dropped inside the yard. By the time I found out there was a package and got to it, however, Merlin had wreaked havoc, tearing it to shreds, and the dress was ruined. Kel would have to return it tomorrow, but it struck me as odd that the delivery person hadn’t noticed Merlin barking at them while placing the package in front of him. Who would think to put a package next to a dog who can, and might, tear it apart?
My pyramid:
const character = "#"; const count = 8; const rows = []; function padRow(rowNumber, rowCount) { return " ".repeat(rowCount - rowNumber) + character.repeat(2 * rowNumber - 1) + " ".repeat(rowCount - rowNumber); } for (let i = 0; i < count; i = i + 1) { rows.push(padRow(i + 1, count)); } let result = "" for (const row of rows) { result = result + row + "\n"; } console.log(result);
Since I'm brushing up on things, some of the code was written in longhand. I will fix this in a bit. I'm currently washing the bedding. I did laundry earlier today and need to fold clothes now and put them away. I think I will make myself some matcha tea and fold clothes.
