I have my coffee and I’m ready to start coding.
I’m back, I’m taking a break. I usually take a break when the coding gets pretty challenging. A time to back off a bit and take a breather before I tackle the problem I need to.
I’ve been reading up on skincare trends, and I’ve got questions. Mainly: why are people slathering salmon sperm on their face?
Enter PDRN—short for Polydeoxyribonucleotide (because Polywhatnow wasn’t intimidating enough). It’s derived from salmon DNA. Specifically, the sperm. I mean, I admire the innovation… but who was the first person to look at a salmon and think, “You know what my cheeks need? That.”
Apparently, PDRN helps with wound healing and skin regeneration, which they have been studying on diabetes patients to cover their wounds with, so I guess salmon sperm are the new skincare influencers. Move over retinol, Nemo’s dad is in charge now.
And just when I thought things couldn’t get weirder—exosomes. Tiny little messengers shuttling nutrients and good vibes between cells. They’re supposed to improve skin texture, reduce inflammation, and whisper sweet nothings to your pores.
So, in 2025, women’s skincare routine consists of molecular carrier pigeons and fish fertility. Honestly? If it works, I’ll slather it on and say thank you. However, there aren’t enough studies to back these claims yet, and it all feels a bit like a marketing gimmick. Remember when snail mucin was the last big trend? But don’t get me wrong, snail mucin has some good studies connected to it and does moisturize the skin fairly well.
Anyway, enough about skincare trends. I need to return to my coding. Yes, this is how I tend to procrastinate—by diving into articles about skincare. Sometimes I even watch quick videos. But today, I chose to read, although I was briefly distracted by Kel coming home to pick up Alex.
It’s almost lunchtime, and I’m not quite sure what I want to eat. I’m feeling hungry, but I gave last night’s leftovers to Tommy for his lunch. He prefers not to go out for lunch today since he already has to eat out for dinner with his band practice tonight.
It’s 5 o’clock, and I’m considering having dinner soon. We’re fending for ourselves tonight. Kel took Alex and Jay to the movies, which began at 4, so they should be home later. Tommy has practice tonight as well, so I’m thinking it’s the right time for me to eat. I just made myself some more matcha tea.
I plan to organize my planner for July and part of August since we’ll be on our trip. I might also watch some YouTube and play Final Fantasy.
