This month feels a bit busy with appointments, but I’m glad things are getting done. Even with the productivity, there’s still this hum of anxiety in the background. I can’t quite put my finger on why—I just feel it. At the same time, I’m starting to get excited about our trip. Maybe once I get there, the anxiety will settle. Sometimes anticipation stirs up more nerves than the actual event. I’m holding onto the hope that once I’m in the moment, I’ll be able to enjoy it fully.
I’m considering having the post office hold our mail while we’re on our trip. I wouldn’t mind the girls walking to the mailbox if there were sidewalks, but since they have to walk in the street, it feels too dangerous. We can simply pick up the mail when we return from our trip; I think that’s the most straightforward solution.
Alex made me lunch today—fried rice. It was quite tasty, albeit a bit salty. He started cooking around 11:30 and served it to me by noon. He kept getting distracted in the process, even coming into the office to look for O’Malley. I’m not sure why he was looking for O’Malley while he was busy cooking.
There are so many new books out there, and I haven’t had the chance to read any of them yet. I still haven’t finished “The Paris Apartment.” I really should wrap that up and get a few books ready on my Kindle for the trip.
Kel and our friend have made reservations for manicures and pedicures in a few weeks. I checked the prices, and it comes to $66 for both treatments, which I can afford. I just feel a bit odd prioritizing self-care like this. I’m accustomed to only getting my nails done, and I’ve never really paid much attention to my feet before, but I suppose it will be nice to have my toes painted. I’ll opt for gel nail polish on my nails and regular polish for my toes since my feet are usually tucked away in socks and shoes anyway—no need for anything too fancy. Instead of cutting my nails today, I filed them down a little to keep the length so I have some length to my nails when they get painted.
I’m getting my hair dyed on the 22nd, which I believe is a Tuesday. Kel and I will be doing that right after we return from her dad’s house. I’m definitely more excited about the hair dye; I’m quite tired of the bleached ends.
Today has been quite productive with coding. I played around with HTML and managed to stay focused without too much difficulty. I did take a break, however, to walk to the mailbox and collect our mail, which we hadn’t gone down to get in a few days. Now that it’s almost 5 PM, I plan to prepare some matcha tea and enjoy a few videos on YouTube. Well, after I restart my computer. The computer has updates. I was going to do laundry today but the girls are doing theirs so I decided to wait till tomorrow.
