I recently had my nails done with acrylics, featuring a dark green polish accented with sparkles. The overall look has a gothic vibe that I enjoy. The only challenge now is readjusting to having longer nails, even though it is still pretty short; it makes simple tasks a bit more difficult, including typing. I haven’t quite figured out the right angle yet, so every sentence feels like a battle between my fingers and the keyboard. Typos everywhere. The clack of the keys is louder now, and honestly, a little satisfying. I feel fancy and mildly inconvenienced—like I have to choose between looking good and being efficient. Maybe I’ll get the hang of it. Or maybe I’ll just start typing with the sides of my fingers like a T-Rex with style.
I’m starting to code later in the day, as I’ve been busy packing and searching for my rain jacket, which I still haven’t found. I’m curious about its whereabouts, as I’ve looked everywhere for it. Karissa even searched her room and closet just in case I accidentally left it with her.
Last week, Kel had a doctor appointment that was originally scheduled in another town, but they moved it to our town without informing her. Consequently, I decided to call the office where Lexi has her appointment scheduled for tomorrow. To my surprise, they too had switched the appointment to our town’s location. This location had been closed for some time due to water damage, but it seems they have since reopened. It would have been appreciated if they had notified us of this change instead of me having to call to confirm the appointment details.
Saturday was quite busy. Tommy and I first headed to get his blood drawn in preparation for his doctor appointment on Tuesday. Afterward, we stopped by Sadie’s for lunch, where I ordered the à la carte cheese enchilada. Next, we visited a shoe store, and Tommy picked out a new pair of walking shoes, which he definitely needed. We then made our way to REI to purchase a new water bottle — a Stanley water bottle, not a Stanley cup, but from the same brand. Finally, we went to Costco to pick up some wax traps for my hearing aids, along with a few other items for our trip.
On Sunday, Kel, a few friends, and I went to get our nails done. We indulged in both a manicure and a pedicure, which took about two hours. I hadn’t realized it would take so long, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable, perhaps because of the size of our group. The technician who worked on my nails did an excellent job, and I’m very pleased with the results.
Afterward, Tommy and I took Alex to Costco for some shopping before heading back to our friend’s house, where Kel was already waiting. Later on, Tommy and I left to attend his hockey game. We stopped by Del Taco for dinner, and I borrowed a jacket since I forgot to bring one for the ice rink. Although Tommy and his team seemed a bit out of sync during the game, they all played well overall.
I have completed my packing. While there are a few items I still want to add to my suitcase, overall, I am done. Outside, we’re experiencing a significant storm; we even lost power for a brief moment, and the rain is coming down quite heavily. In light of that, I’m enjoying a cup of hot tea and listening to the sound of the rain.
I still have some clothes to put away, so I’ll tackle that task and take a moment to relax before Tommy returns home from work. I might prepare his lunch or save that for later—I’m not sure yet.
