This morning I made myself a maple chai tea, and it turned out really good. I only added a teaspoon of maple syrup—just enough to sweeten it without overpowering the chai. You could still taste both the chai and the maple. I forgot to add vanilla extract, but honestly, it still tasted great. I even frothed some milk to top it off. I’ll have coffee later, probably in about an hour when I start feeling hungry, since it’s not lunchtime yet. Waking up at 5 a.m. definitely makes intermittent fasting a little more challenging.
After finishing my tea, I had my medication management appointment. She refilled my prescriptions, which I’m relieved about, so I’ll be able to pick them up tomorrow. I also need to go to Tricore for blood work, but first, I have to call and confirm that they have my lab order. If they don’t, I’ll need to call my doctor back to let them know. She wants the labs done by the end of next week if possible.
The pest control people are supposed to come by this afternoon. They’ll call Kel when they’re on their way, and she’ll let me know. She could have just given them my number, but I’m not sure she actually knows it without looking at her phone. It makes me think about how, when we were younger, we used to memorize all our friends’ phone numbers. Now with cell phones, we don’t bother. The only numbers I still know by heart are Tommy’s and Kel’s. I almost know my girls’ numbers by heart, but I’m always a few numbers off.
I’m back in the bedroom, keeping an eye out for the pest control guy who’s supposed to come today. They work until 5, and it’s already 4. Kel told me to watch for them, but they haven’t called her yet to confirm. Honestly, I have a feeling they’re not coming since we haven’t heard anything. We won’t be home tomorrow morning, since Kel and I are taking Alexis to her doctor’s appointment. She has a hearing test scheduled and might be getting new hearing aids soon. Maybe we can have them come tomorrow afternoon instead. We’ll need to call the trash company to let them know not to come tomorrow because of the hornets. That will suck too because it’s nice to have the trash picked up.
Kel spoke with a supervisor at the pest control company, and they said the soonest they could come is Tuesday. We can’t wait that long—we need to deal with these wasps sooner. We’ve turned to Facebook for advice on how to handle them.
So far, not too much for advice. We will figure out how to deal with the wasps. I think I will make myself some matcha tea and watch a little YouTube now.
