I think we must have had some power glitches yesterday, because when I came home, my computer and UPS were both off. My computer has a particularly slow start-up—it took nearly 15 minutes of pressing the power button this morning before it finally turned on.
Yesterday was a busy day. Tommy had a concert, so we left the house around one to head down there. The concert was really nice—lots of great songs. Afterward, we went to a local coffee shop. Well, it’s technically more of a restaurant that also serves coffee, but it has that cozy coffee shop vibe. We stayed there to read and have dinner—I had French toast, and he went for a cheeseburger—while waiting for Tommy’s hockey game later in the evening. He had the early game last night.
I’m almost done with Wordslut. It’s been a funny read, and even though I could have easily set it aside, I like the satisfaction of finishing a book once I’ve started.
After the game, we stopped by the store to grab some things for Tommy’s lunches and a few dinners for the week.
On Saturday, we went to the University football game, which was a lot of fun! It’s definitely harder to follow in person than on TV—I couldn’t always hear the announcements or see the ball—but the live energy completely makes up for it. The crowd atmosphere is so different; you really get swept up in it.
Not only did I feel slow today, but the whole day seemed to drag on. I suppose that works out since I was moving at a slow pace myself. Coding progressed slowly, and I struggled to focus. I even dozed off for 20 minutes. It’s just one of those sleepy Mondays.
My back has been hurting the past few days, and sometimes I get spasms—it’s something I’ve dealt with for years. The pain comes and goes. Today isn’t too bad, but it still hurts. I decided not to take more Naproxen since I had some yesterday, and I try to avoid painkillers unless I really feel like I need them.
My back is still bothering me, so I think I’ll take some Tylenol (insert witty joke here) and make myself a cup of hot tea. I’ve got about an hour of coding left, and after that, I might settle in with my book.
