The power glitched again yesterday—something far too common here. It’s not the house; it’s definitely the power company. I’ve never seen so many outages and glitches before. This time, my UPS and computer both shut off. I managed to power the UPS back on, but the computer itself won’t start. I suspect the case isn’t sending the signal to the motherboard. This morning, I’ve tried checking the power cable connections, pressing the power button multiple times, and reseating the cables inside the case, but so far, no luck. I’m pretty sure that the motherboard is fine. However, I do need to dust inside my computer.
I’m having a cup of coffee while coding, but I’m struggling to focus. Everyone else is up and busy, and I feel guilty just sitting here coding when I could be helping around the house. Because I’m so distracted, coding feels even harder—I’m not always sure what the instructions are asking for. It’s almost lunchtime, though, and maybe some food will help me get back on track.
Oh, my computer is finally back up and running! I even took the top and side panels off the case and checked all the cables and connections. After repeatedly pressing the power button, it eventually turned on. I still think the issue is with the case, rather than the motherboard, although I can’t say for sure. Just in case, I’m charging my laptop so I have a backup ready.
My back is feeling a bit better today. It’s not 100% yet, but it’s getting close. I took some Naproxen this morning, just to be safe. I skipped upper body weights with Tommy last night because I didn’t want to risk making it worse, which was disappointing since I enjoy lifting. Hopefully, tonight or tomorrow, I’ll be able to get back to it.
Kel made us lunch today. She isn’t working at the vet’s office anymore—she quit about a week ago, so she’s been home. For lunch, she put together an open-faced chicken salad sandwich with an apple and a few slices of cheese. It was healthy and good. I only ate half of the apple, though—it started to upset my stomach. Raw apples always do that to me; they have to be cooked for me to enjoy them without any trouble.
Sandy stole my chair the moment I got up, so now I’m perched on the edge while she lounges behind me. This arrangement won’t last long—I’ll have to move the cute little kitty soon. She’s already been on my desk multiple times today. Each time I set her down, she climbs right back up.
I’m going to make some tea, finish up coding for the day, and then put away the laundry I did this morning.
