Kel made me breakfast this morning—eggs and a tortilla. It was really nice of her. I’m not sure what to have for lunch since I’m not very hungry, but maybe later I’ll make a sandwich. For now, I just made myself some matcha tea.
Speaking of things to do later, I noticed there’s a documentary about the 8 Passengers’ story. The book The House of My Mother was based on that story – it’s a sad one. I’d like to watch the documentary on Hulu when I have some free time. It’s disturbing how much child exploitation was involved. What started as a YouTube family vlog turned into something much darker, with a narcissistic mother at the center of it all.
I’ve been coding most of the day. I want to shift gears soon and study cybersecurity, but first, I think I’ll make that sandwich. Part of me keeps thinking I already ate and shouldn’t eat again, but that was breakfast, and now I’m hungry. It’s hard to focus when I’m hungry.
This past weekend was nice. On Saturday, Tommy went to the movies with Alex and Chris to see Tron, and they really enjoyed it. Kel and I stayed home, had popcorn, and spent some time on our computers. On Sunday, Tommy and I went grocery shopping. We picked up his lunch items for the week and ingredients for dinner. We ended up eating around five, which is early for us, but he had hockey that evening.
The power glitched this morning, and it took a while to get my computer back up and running. I’ll have to deal with that issue at some point. Karissa came to me saying her computer was prompting her to switch to Windows 11. Mine’s been doing the same. I told her we’ll take care of it later. Since Windows is no longer supporting Windows 10, we’ll eventually need to upgrade to Windows 11. I’m unsure if Karissa’s computer can handle Windows 11. Mine can’t. Lol!
I spent a few hours studying cybersecurity today. I went to examcompass.com and took the first Security+ quiz. I did much better than the first time I took it, which felt encouraging. There are still a few terms I need to learn—some I hadn’t even heard of until now. I think this first chapter of the CompTIA book is probably the most important one, so I really want to make sure I understand it inside and out.
I think we’re having some kind of chicken soup for dinner – it smells really good. Kel’s the one cooking tonight. I might make myself another cup of tea and do a little reading while it simmers.
