Quiet day

The house is quiet. Kel and Alex went to the city and will be heading to her dad’s house later. I’m studying cybersecurity today. My goal is to get through chapter 2 and watch the supplementary videos. I’ll review the quizzes afterward. Now, if I can just focus.

I keep feeling like I should be doing something else. Oh—right, I need to call the Costco Hearing Aid Center about Karissa’s hearing aid. It hasn’t been working well. I’ll call them in a bit; I want to finish my studying first.

There isn’t much to write about today. I’m restless and having trouble concentrating. I’m watching the supplementary videos and taking notes—they’re easier to focus on than the textbook. Still, I need to read the chapter.

I’m still having trouble concentrating. My mind keeps jumping from one thing to another, and I can’t seem to sit still. It’s like my body wants to move while my brain tries to focus, but neither is cooperating. I keep telling myself to breathe, take it slow, and just do one thing at a time—but easier said than done. I still haven’t called Costco for Karissa’s hearing aid. I should have her make the call, but she isn’t feeling good, and her voice sounds like a frog at the moment.

I called Costco but only got their answering machine, so I’ll try again later this afternoon. Tommy has a medical procedure on Friday, which means he’ll be home tomorrow and again after the procedure. I might do some journaling in the meantime, but I’ll most likely be back on Monday. Not much planned for the weekend. Alexis has a hearing test at Costco on Sunday, and Tommy has hockey that evening.

I haven’t eaten lunch yet. So far, I’ve just had a few cups of coffee and the last slice of the bread I baked last weekend. I’m not very hungry, but I’ll probably get something to eat within the next hour. For now, I’m fine.

I called and scheduled an appointment for Karissa’s hearing aid in November. I figured it’s best to give her some time to recover before going out—and to avoid spreading anything if she’s still sick. I think I’ll make myself some matcha tea and wrap up my studying for the day. Oh, I also made an appointment for my hearing aid since the left one has been very low in volume. However, I need to reschedule it, so I’m waiting for a call back.
