Happy Tuesday!

This morning, Alex and I went to my doctor’s appointment. My ENT is so far out that it’s practically in the next city over. If you take the freeway, you actually have to get off at the next city’s exit and then loop back around to ours. It’s not even in the city itself – more like a suburb of a suburb. Anyway, it took us about an hour to get there.

My appointment was at the hospital, so I had to check in downstairs in the main lobby before heading up to the ENT office. I arrived at the hospital right at my appointment time, which technically made me a little late, but the doctor was running behind as well, so no one seemed to notice. Or at least, no one said anything or made me wait longer. The visit itself was pretty quick – about twenty minutes. Everything looked good, or as good as it could be. The doctor prescribed some ear drops, well, it’s more of a powder, to help keep my ears dry. I wasn’t planning to fill the prescription since it’s a $50 medication, but Tommy wasn’t too happy about that. So, I think we’ll drop it off at the pharmacy on Saturday.

After my appointment, Alex and I stopped at the Costco gas station to fill up the truck, then went inside to look around. He was hoping to find that soda collaboration between Jones Soda and the Fallout game – it’s exclusive to Costco – but we couldn’t find it anywhere. We ended up grabbing lunch at the food court instead. There weren’t many samples out today, which was a little disappointing. After we ate, we headed home, picked up three days’ worth of mail from the mailbox, and finally made it back.

Once I got home, I made myself some coffee and settled into the office to do some coding. After about an hour, I started feeling sleepy and dozed off for about fifteen minutes. When I woke up, I walked around a bit and made myself some hot tea.

Alex got back a little while ago. After dropping me off earlier, he went to pick up his grandpa’s groceries from Walmart and deliver them to his house.

I just updated the firmware on my hearing aids. It’s pretty cool that I could do it right from my phone. Before, you’d have to take them in for an update. Now I just need to clean them and replace the wax traps.

I gave Alex and Karissa some cough medicine since they’re still coughing. The turkey breast is in the oven, and I’ve already cut up the potatoes – they’re waiting to be boiled around 5:30. We’ve got gravy ready; we just need a vegetable. I told Tommy, so maybe he and Kel can pick some up on their way home from work.

I’m putting together my Thanksgiving Day meal plan on Simplenote – the app I use for shopping lists and menus. It’s that time of year again, and I’m excited to start making pies!
