Monday Monday…

I’m staring at this blank page, wondering what I should write about. Funny how something as simple as a blank page can feel so intimidating – just white space waiting for thoughts to land. Maybe that’s where writing begins: not with knowing what to say, but with being willing to start anyway. So, I’ll start with the weekend.

Saturday, we went over to a friend’s house for some board games and swimming. I still think it was far too cold to be swimming, but we did it anyway. We brought snacks from Costco, and I may have eaten a little too much Halloween candy.

On Sunday, we took Karissa to the Costco Hearing Aid Center to have her hearing aid checked. Turns out the receiver was dead, so they’re sending it in for repair. After that, we came home for a bit before Tommy and I headed to his hockey game. His skates weren’t sharpened, so he slipped and fell a few times on the ice. He hurt his tailbone—hopefully not too badly. He’s taking Naproxen for the pain.

With my hearing aids on, the house doesn’t feel so quiet. I can hear the girls talking in their room, Alex chatting with his computer, and even the soft hum of the computer fans. I can also hear myself type. My keyboard is loud. Haha!

I just got back from Walmart. I picked up a few things for dinner tonight and some ingredients for Tommy’s and Kel’s work lunches. I’m having a sandwich for lunch now, then I’ll start prepping their lunches. Karissa grabbed lunch for herself, Lexi, and Alex, but I decided to skip the fast food and eat at home instead.

The recipe called for white wine, so of course, I got carded when purchasing it. Lexi was a little bummed because she wanted to be carded, too, so I called the lady over and told her Lexi wanted to be checked as well. The lady laughed and carded her too. Lexi was very happy about it.

Okay, Tommy and Kel’s lunches are done, the bed is made (I washed the sheets), and I had a cup of tea to wind down. I didn’t have time to put the clothes away, so I’ll do that tomorrow. I need to remember to put the water bottles out tonight since it’s water day tomorrow. For now, I’m going to watch some YouTube and rest.
