I still haven’t put together our Christmas menu, but that’s on my to-do list for today. I’m not entirely sure what the main course will be yet. I asked Tommy, but he’s just as undecided as I am. According to Alexis, though, mac ’n cheese is definitely making an appearance, so at least we’ve got one solid dish locked in. And of course, cookies! Soon, the whole kitchen will be transformed into cookie central! I just asked Kel what she would like, and she gave me a few menu suggestions. So, we are getting somewhere.
I’m charging my laptop right now. The chimney guy is said to come over today to fix the pellet stove. I hope I’m not waiting for hours again. We will see. I will be on my laptop while waiting.
I went to sleep again after Tommy and Kel left for work. I didn’t feel like I got much sleep last night. I’m feeling better now. I had my coffee and am currently studying.
I keep getting the feeling that I’m forgetting something, and honestly, I probably am. I didn’t check my planner today, and I never made a to-do list, so there’s a good chance something slipped through the cracks. Oh, right. I need to call Costco about my hearing aid. I have to order new plastic domes so I can finally use my left hearing aid again. I’m not even sure if they’re open right now, but I’ll try calling in a few minutes.
At least the chimney guy finally came by today. I ended up waiting an hour and a half, but he did show up. Unfortunately, the news wasn’t great. Our pellet stove is basically done for. It needs so much work that I don’t even know what the next step should be. Maybe we’ll have to get a bigger space heater for the living room to get us through the cold. It really sucks to lose the pellet stove, though.
For now, I’m going to call Costco real quick and see if I can get through. Odds are it’ll go straight to the answering machine again, but I’ll leave another message and hope someone calls back soon.
Okay, I finally called the Costco Hearing Aid Center, and of course, I had to leave a message. They never answer their phones, but to be fair, they usually get back to me in a reasonable amount of time… well, most of the time. Still, at least the call is done and off my mind.
Now I really need to focus on the Christmas menu. I keep telling myself I’ll start it, and today needs to be the day. I’m going to sit down, get it going, and hopefully come up with a solid plan. Time to switch gears and dive into holiday mode. I’ll start working on it now and post this.
