The dogs were inside for a while this morning. I thought it was a little too chilly for them, but they eventually convinced me to let them back out. I keep checking on them, but they don’t seem interested in coming inside. I’m having my coffee now, just keeping an eye on them.
It’s honestly hard having them inside for long. They just want to run and play, and there’s not enough space for that. Merlin is a nonstop ball of energy; he rarely settles down. Everest might calm down on her own, but Merlin always wants to play, so she stays hyped up, too. Eventually, they do lie down and rest… but the second someone comes out of a bedroom, they’re both back to full energy again.
I let them inside again because it looks like it’s going to rain. It’s supposed to rain all day, so they’ll probably end up inside most of the time. Right now, they’re running back and forth between the living room and the office, playing with that squeaky duck. Today might be a little difficult in terms of getting things done since I have to keep such a close eye on them.
The rain stopped for a bit, so I let Merlin outside. He was practically dancing by the door. He’ll be back in soon for breakfast anyway.
My mood is a little better today. I like the rain. It’s a bit frustrating managing the dogs indoors, but since I’m feeling a little lighter, it doesn’t feel overwhelming. Tomorrow I’m going to that camera event, so I’ll get out of the house. After that, I’ll head home with Kel since Tommy has band practice that night.
Friday is when I find out whether the drunk driver is released or sent back. I don’t know why I’m so worried about it. Whatever the judge decides is what will happen. It’s out of my control, and I keep reminding myself of that.
On Saturday, I was thinking to work on Alexis’s passport so we can get it mailed off. I also need to help Karissa get her passport book since she only has the card. I’m wondering if we can also take her to her old school on Friday to visit the financial aid office and get the scholarship transfer form. We need to send her documents over to her current school.
The girls are up now, and Everest escaped again. I’m pretty sure she’s getting out through the back gate somehow. So she’ll be inside most of the day. I did let both dogs out briefly so they could go to the bathroom, but I’ll be bringing them back in soon since it looks like the rain is starting up again.
We’re out of bread, so I had some soup for lunch. Everest managed to escape again after being outside for just a short time, so now she’s back in. I just can’t trust her out there right now. I’ll need to check the back gate later and see if there’s a hole or some spot she keeps slipping through.
Studying has been pretty tough today with everything going on. It feels like my whole day has revolved around the dogs. Merlin is outside right now since the rain let up again; he definitely prefers being out there. Everest, on the other hand, is much more of an indoor dog. She actually seems happiest inside.
The rain has brought Merlin inside, and for now, he’s settled in the girls’ room. Keeping the two dogs separated really seems to help; they’re both much calmer that way. Everest is asleep at the moment, which makes the house feel a little quieter. I’m using this time to ease into studying… well, I will be, right after I finish writing this.
I’ve got the Artemis II launch coverage on. They’re getting everything ready, building up to the moment. The first woman to the moon, it’s so cool. I’m a little nervous about the launch. I hope everything goes well. I’m sure everything will go well. Ten minutes to launch!
That was such a cool launch. It is nerve-racking to watch, though. I’m going to continue watching this. They are in space now, headed to the moon.
