I’m typing on my phone. It’s been a long day. I woke up before my alarm at 3 a.m. I got ready to go and then woke up the girls. They got ready pretty quickly. Tommy woke up after 3:30. We left the house at 4:15. We packed the car and started for the airport.
I like that we have a small airport. It makes it so much easier to get through. We dropped off our car and took the shuttle to the front of the airport. We made it through TSA smoothly. We then walked to our gate and waited to board the plane.
The plane ride took a few hours and I slept while we were flying over Arizona. We made it to Los Angeles. LAX is such a large airport! I mean I know it is big and I’ve flown in and out of LAX before. I just didn’t remember it being so big. We had to take a shuttle to the baggage claim and take a bus to the car rental place.
After we got the car, we started heading toward the Antelope Valley. And OMG was I405 backed up! It had so much traffic. It doesn’t surprise me but I was still in awe at all the traffic. Once we were on I14, we stopped at In n’ Out and had lunch.
Karissa didn’t finish her food so we took it with us. She wasn’t feeling too good. Her ear hurt from the plane and she was very tired.
We got to my mom’s house around 11 a.m. My mom was happy to see me and the girls. It was kind of awkward for me but nice as well. She didn’t remember Tommy, even though Tommy remembered her. I’ve known Tommy since high school. My mom gave him a ride home once. Tommy knew Kevin before I knew Kevin.
The girls, after a bit, took a nap. Tommy and I went to Rite Aid and got some Tylenol for Karissa and Midol for Alexis. Then Tommy took a small nap while my mom and I watched TV. We even talked a bit. That is something we don’t normally do! I’m sure I was awkward.
We later went out to dinner and I had a gyro. It was pretty good. They did a good job with the tzatziki sauce. After dinner, Tommy and I went to Rite Aid to get some distilled water for our CPAP. And to get some Thrifty ice cream. They didn’t have either! No distilled water and no ice cream. They sold Thrifty ice cream by the tub but we didn’t want so much ice cream. So next we went to Albertsons and bought distilled water and some sandwich stuff and soda. The girls already went to Albertsons with my mom to get snacks.
We are home now and Tommy has already gone to sleep. Poor guy, he is so tired! The girls have already showered and settled into bed. I’m about to go to sleep soon also.
My mom says we are waking up early tomorrow to go to the bank. So I guess I better get some sleep.
