I’m back home! I didn’t have much opportunity to use my computer today. This morning, I took care of a few bills, and then Kel mentioned we needed to leave for her dad’s house. Since she was driving me to my dentist appointment, I had to tag along. Her dad lives in the next town, which made it impractical for her to go to her dad’s and return here to pick me up. We spent a few hours at her dad’s house before heading to my appointment.
My dentist is located in another town, which took us nearly half an hour to reach from her dad’s place. We arrived early, hoping they might take me in sooner, but that didn’t work out. I took my antibiotics an hour before the appointment, so I was all set. They only did a cleaning today, and my mouth is a bit sore now.
Tommy returned home a few hours ago, and we all enjoyed dinner together. Karissa used a steam cleaner on the couch today, so it’s still damp, which is why we’re currently spending time on our computers. My laundry is nearly finished, and I plan to put it away tomorrow, along with the suitcases.
Yesterday, I woke up around 6 a.m. and got ready for the day. I also finished packing that morning. We had a few snacks and beach towels to pack, but we managed to have everything ready. We left my mom’s house around 9 a.m. It was a pleasant visit; a bit awkward at first, but ultimately turned out to be quite nice. We should plan to visit again.
After leaving my mom’s house, we stopped by the cemetery where Kevin and my dad were laid to rest. We visited Kevin, who is located at the front of the cemetery. It’s been years since I was last there, and I had forgotten exactly where my dad’s resting place was. So, we went to the funeral home to inquire, and they kindly provided us with a map. We found my dad’s memorial and spent a few quiet moments there. Tommy took pictures of both Kevin’s and my dad’s memorial plaques, and I should ask him for those pictures. I would like to share them on Facebook and Instagram.
After visiting the cemetery, we made a final stop to see family. It was a lovely visit, lasting about an hour before we set off for L.A. and the airport. Upon our arrival in L.A., we had planned to grab a quick bite at In-N-Out, but the line was too long. Instead, we opted for food at the airport.
At the car rental place, we returned the rental car and took the shuttle to the airport. Once there, we purchased some food, though it was quite overpriced! We found our gate, enjoyed our meal, and waited to board. Although the flight was slightly delayed, we eventually boarded and had a fast journey back home. The flight was a bit bumpy due to some weather in our area.
On our way home, an accident on the freeway necessitated an unexpected detour, leading us to take Route 66 temporarily before we could rejoin the freeway for the rest of the trip. We stopped at Walmart to pick up some lettuce for Tommy’s work lunch and arrived home around 7:30 p.m. It was great to see everyone and the animals when we got back.
Sandy is currently curled up on my desk as I type this. I plan to watch some YouTube before bed and may upload some pictures to Facebook and Instagram tomorrow.
