Some days don’t come with revelations or breakthroughs. They don’t ask much of you. They just show up — soft and golden, stretching across the sky like a content sigh.
Today is one of those days. I don’t have anything to write about.
There’s not much to say except that the sun is shining. The sky is a clear kind of blue, the kind you’d almost forget existed after too many gray mornings. Of course, the past mornings have been the same. A breeze is nudging the leaves just enough to make them shimmer. Even the shadows look peaceful.
There’s no urgency in the air. No deadlines are pressing into my shoulders. Just warmth and the quiet hum of life going about its business — birds chirping, insects buzzing, and Merlin joyfully chasing his ball. It’s the kind of day where a cup of something cold or a walk around the block feels like a full itinerary.
I don’t have any clever thoughts today. No deep insights. No dramatic updates. Just this: it’s a nice sunny day, and that feels like enough. Maybe that’s worth writing down, too.
Later, Tommy has practice, so we’ll likely fend for ourselves tonight. I’ve been coding since this morning, and in the midst of it, O’Malley caught and killed a baby bullsnake. I disposed of it in a store bag and took it to the dumpster. Now I find myself needing a break, while O’Malley seems to be growing bored. With Kel not home to help me procrastinate, I’m at a bit of a loss for what to do next. Yes, I need to code, but after the snake fiasco, I need a break. That was enough drama for the day.
Kel accidentally gave Chris a bag of stickers that actually belonged to Alex, and Chris ended up using them. I want a bag of stickers! Lol. Kel and I just returned from Smith’s and Walmart. We stopped by Smith’s to get some sides for the pork roast we need to use before it goes bad. We picked up some stuffing and carrots. After that, we headed over to Walmart to get Karissa’s medication. I’m not sure when dinner will be ready, probably around 6 or 7, but I’m feeling quite hungry right now.
I plan to watch a bit of YouTube now and maybe play some Final Fantasy XIV. Tommy is off work tomorrow, so hopefully, we can work on my desk or clean out the garage. On Saturday, I have an appointment for my hearing aid at Costco because my right one is pretty low; I hope they can turn it up for me. Then on Sunday, Tommy’s parents will be visiting. Now, I’m looking forward to some matcha tea!
