My birthday is in three days, and I’m not exactly sure how I feel about it. I’m happy—it’s not a gloomy feeling at all. I don’t feel old, either. Just aware. I am aware that another year is about to come into place. I like birthdays. I like the small celebrations, the cake, the messages from people I haven’t heard from in a while. I like that it’s a day that’s mine, even if I do nothing big with it.
I need to decide what I’d like for my birthday dinner, but nothing specific comes to mind. Should I go for tacos, pizza, or perhaps pancit? The last option would require me to cook, and that somewhat defeats the purpose of a birthday dinner. I still want a mini portable printer for my birthday. I know it seems redundant since we already have a printer and may even be seen as frivolous. But, I don’t know what I want for my birthday.
I spent the morning scheduling doctor appointments for Alexis regarding her medication and check-up. Following that, I dedicated additional time on the phone to get her health insurance reinstated, as it had been terminated last April. Fortunately, she has been approved for coverage, which starts on the 25th—just in time for her doctor’s appointment on the 27th. I’m relieved that everything is falling into place.
On Friday night and Saturday, Tommy and I worked on my desk. The stain is finished! It looks fantastic now, and we just need to apply polyurethane to it. I’m excited to start using my new desk soon, which will also allow me to organize the piles of items accumulating on the floor beside me.
On Sunday, we visited a friend’s house for some gaming and swimming, which was a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed some of the games we played.
Tomorrow and Wednesday are expected to bring a change of pace with some much-needed rain. I’m looking forward to it; something is calming about the sound of rain against the windows. After that, we can expect the weather to settle into the 70s for a while before warming up again into the 80s. It’s cloudy outside right now; I wonder if the rain will arrive early.
I’ve been coding for the past few hours. I missed lunch because I was talking to the health insurance company. I decided later to have a pb&j. It’s too late now to have coffee, so I’m going to make some hot tea. I do have clothes to put away later since I’m doing laundry. There was another person’s laundry in the washer this morning so I had to finish their laundry before I did mine. So now I need to put my laundry in the dryer and take out their laundry. Nothing too exciting today. Lol!
