I got home a few hours ago and jumped into coding. At first, I felt a little lost—overwhelmed by the multitude of tasks I needed to accomplish. A few minutes and a cup of coffee helped me get grounded. Starting late in the day always makes it harder to focus, and that’s usually when procrastination sneaks in.
We started the morning early, around 8:30. We left for Kel’s dad’s house since he had a doctor’s appointment in the city, the same time Lexi had hers. Alex came along to take Lexi and me to her doctor’s appointment. Thinking back, I probably didn’t need to tag along since it was Lexi’s appointment, but I went anyway. We arrived an hour early, so Lexi checked in, and luckily, they called her in ahead of schedule. The appointment itself lasted barely five minutes—just a quick check-in to see how her medication was working and whether she needed refills.
I had brought my Kindle with me, but reading was impossible with Alex there. He talked to me the entire time we waited. Not that it was a bad thing—it made the time pass quickly.
Afterwards, Lexi insisted on Taco Bell. It was funny sitting there with them, watching them eat and listening as they reminisced about high school. Their stories were entertaining, and I enjoyed just being part of the conversation. From there, we stopped at Starbucks because Lexi wanted coffee. The fall drinks are out now, and she ordered some kind of pecan crunch oatmilk drink—probably not the official name, but close enough.
Our last stop was Smith’s, so I could grab distilled water. I almost picked up cucumbers too, but Kel reminded me we still had some at home. I’ll need them tonight since we’re having gyros. After Smith’s, we grabbed the mail and finally headed home.
Alex left to pick up Kel from his grandpa’s, and I settled back into my day.
Last night I started reading Summer in the City. So far, it’s cute, funny, and fast-paced with plenty of playful banter. A lighthearted rom-com. I hope the book stays this way.
I need to start dinner soon. And I can’t think of anything else to write about now. Lol! Oh, Kel bought some veggies on her way home. And cucumbers! Because there were no cucumbers in the house. I would be sad if we had no cucumbers.
