Random Tuesday

My room overlooks the driveway, so I can see when anyone pulls in. That’s why I spent the whole morning in there with my laptop, keeping an eye out for the pest control team. I worked while also glancing out the window— for hours. Eventually, Kel called the pest control after I mentioned they still hadn’t shown up. It turns out, the technician was out sick, and the company is scrambling to send someone else to deal with the hornets swarming around our dumpster. It’s past noon now, so I’ve moved back to the office, and I’m doubtful they’ll come today. Hopefully, this will be taken care of soon.

I just picked up a new book from the library, Made in Manhattan. I think this might be my last “summer read” before switching over to something cozy and autumn-themed. I haven’t started it yet, but it’s gotten a lot of hype, so I’m hoping it lives up to it. My Kindle is charging right now—it was completely dead. I probably should’ve plugged it in a few days ago. The battery doesn’t hold a charge as well as it used to, but it still works just fine.

I really want to organize the pile of stuff under my desk, but I can’t yet since my new desk isn’t finished. Everything is just stacked up, and I can never find what I need. I’ve got a set of plastic drawers in the closet that I’d like to clean out and get rid of, but first, I need somewhere to put everything that’s in them. I just have this urge to clean and organize. It happens to me sometimes—I get in the mood to organize, even though right now I can’t actually do much about it. Coding isn’t even hard today; I’m just more in the mood to tidy up.

I was thinking today about making some chai tea with maple syrup—maple chai tea! The only problem is, I don’t have any chai, but Tommy does, and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind if I borrowed some. I already have the maple syrup, and I might even add a little pure vanilla extract. That could be really good. I’ll have to try out my little concoction later.

Tomorrow morning, I have my medication management appointment. That means I should be able to get my prescriptions refilled in time for the weekend, when I’ll need them. I’m glad Walmart called to remind me that I needed an appointment before getting a refill; otherwise, I would’ve run out by next week, which isn’t good, since I have two medications that would’ve been finished.

Lexi just gave me her old power bank, which had expanded out of its case. Luckily, I found a few nearby places that take batteries for recycling, so I won’t have to make a trip into the city. She also has some old electronics she wants to get rid of—I think Best Buy accepts those, but I’ll have to check.

Oh! Trader Joe’s has their fall items in stock now. Did you know you can actually read their Fearless Flyer online? I just discovered that, and it even comes with recipes! I definitely want to try a few of them.

For now, I’m going to finish up a little coding. Maybe I’ll try the maple chai tonight, and if I do, I’ll let you know how it turns out tomorrow.
