The poolish (bread starter) I made yesterday exploded out of its jar overnight—the lid kept it in just long enough before it spilled all over the counter. So, I made a fresh batch today and transferred it to a larger container, this time covering it with Saran Wrap. It should have plenty of room to rise now, and I’ll use it to make bread tomorrow. That timing works out well, since we’re planning on cheese steaks tonight and will use the French bread we picked up at the store this morning.
Speaking of things working again—I’m back on my computer! I tested my keyboard and it’s working just fine. I’m relieved I don’t need to replace it, since I really like this one. I just need to be more careful about keeping drinks off my desk.
This morning, Tommy had therapy and a haircut scheduled back-to-back, which meant he had to cut his therapy session short. I actually slept through my alarm and only woke up 15 minutes before his appointment, but Kel ended up waking him in time. Luckily, therapy is from home, so it was a little less stressful. Afterward, we stopped at the store to grab a few dinners for the weekend.
This afternoon, Alexis had a doctor’s appointment. They did blood work to check for arthritis—I didn’t even know that was possible. She also had her ears cleaned, so I should make her an appointment at the Costco Hearing Aid Center for a hearing test and to talk about new hearing aids.
Oh, and earlier this morning, we went to Tricore for my blood work. My psychiatrist was supposed to put in the order, but when I got there, they didn’t have it. So, I’ll need to call my doctor on Monday and remind them to send it in.
Now, I’m playing Final Fantasy XIV and might watch some YouTube later. The rain has stopped, which is perfect because we’ll be making cheese steaks on the Blackstone griddle. The griddle itself stays dry, but nobody wants to be stuck cooking outside in the rain.
Dinner was great—Tommy did an awesome job on the cheese steaks. We had planned to eat outside, but it started raining just after we finished cooking. Now I’m going to hop on Final Fantasy XIV for a bit and get some crafting done.
