Finally Friday!

I finally got my lab work done today. Since the doctor called yesterday to confirm that my lab orders were at Tricore, I went in this morning to have my blood drawn. The nurse was excellent— I barely felt the needle, and there isn’t even a bruise left behind.

I’m about 90% done with The House of My Mother. I know this because my Kindle tells me so, lol. The story is pretty heavy and deals with a lot of trauma. It’s been a bit triggering at times, so even though I’ve been interested, I’m also kind of relieved to be nearing the end. The narrative feels a little disjointed, with people coming in and out at confusing points. I think it would have been stronger if the author had waited a few more years to process everything before writing it. It almost feels like publishers wanted to strike while the story was still fresh in the news. Still, I can also see how writing it might have been part of her healing process, with getting her words out and finding her voice again.

I’ve been coding all day and still haven’t filled up Tommy’s and my pill boxes — I’ll get to that in a bit. I want to study cybersecurity for an hour or so before doing anything else. I was planning to do laundry today, but I might just do it tonight instead. I made myself some hot tea, and even though it hasn’t rained, the sky looks like it wants to. It’s only 71 degrees today, and the weather feels really nice.

I did another quiz for Chapter 1 of cybersecurity today. I did okay, but I missed a few questions. It’s clear I need to review the material a bit more, but I’m learning a lot and enjoying the process. Chapter 2 is a long one, so I want to make sure I fully understand Chapter 1 before moving on.

I should probably go do the pill boxes and get them out of the way. I should have done it this morning but I started coding instead.
