Everest is finally staying in the yard! I’m so relieved we found and fixed her escape routes, though I still catch myself checking on her every now and then.
With her safely outside, I’ve been able to settle in and focus more on studying, which feels like a win.
Last weekend flew by. On Saturday, Tommy and I spent about five hours studying cybersecurity. He’s getting into it now, too. I ended up taking around fifteen quizzes back-to-back, which felt a little intense, but really helpful. It showed me exactly where I need to improve. I’ve also put together a folder of notes that Tommy printed out for me to refer back to. This morning, I’ve been reading those and watching cybersecurity videos to reinforce everything.
Sunday was more relaxed. We went over to some friends’ house and played Catan, well, technically just one game, but it lasted the entire day. It’s a lot of fun, even though I made a rough start by placing my settlement next to the desert… so yeah, no resources from that decision. Lesson learned.
We took a break halfway through to go swimming, but with a double ear infection and not feeling great from the antibiotics, I stayed out of the pool. Afterward, we jumped back into the game, had dinner, and then headed out around 6:15 for Tommy’s hockey game.
The hockey game was fun; it went into overtime and ended in a shootout. We got home around 9:30, and Tommy and I stayed up for another hour before finally calling it a night.
I spoke too soon. Everest escaped again. I have no idea how she got out this time; she must’ve found a new route. She’s back inside now, but it’s honestly so frustrating. Every time we fix one way out, she somehow discovers another. Ya know, Everest would really be good at that escape room game.
My right wrist has been hurting, which is really frustrating because I want to keep lifting weights. It makes exercising difficult, and even though typing only hurts a little, it’s still noticeable. I’ve been trying some wrist exercises to help, but I’m not sure if they’re actually making a difference. The pain was pretty intense at first, but it’s eased up a bit, and I’m starting to manage it better now. It feels like I somehow strained it. I wonder how long it takes for a sprained wrist to heal.
I need to set up my planner for the week. I haven’t even done that yet. I’m also trying to figure out what we are having for dinner tonight. I’m not too sure about it. So I’m going to find out what we are having for dinner tonight and set up my planner.
