Not much to say
I’ve rambled in my journal so much over the last few days that I don’t feel like I have all that much to say today. Sometimes I think I use up all my thoughts and words at once, and then when I sit down to write again, there isn’t much left to add. Still, I want to keep writing, even if today’s entry is a little shorter and less eventful.
I had my medication management appointment today. I was originally supposed to have the appointment in September, but I needed a refill on my medication, so I called them a few weeks ago to see if I could get an appointment sooner rather than later. It worked out, and I was able to get in today.
My psychiatrist is putting me on Ritalin for my ADHD. I’m still a little nervous about taking an ADHD medication. There’s something about starting a new medication that makes me uneasy, especially when I’m not entirely sure what to expect from it. At the same time, I know I won’t really know how it affects me until I give it a fair chance. So, I guess I’m going to try to keep an open mind about it rather than worrying too much beforehand.
We’re starting with a low dosage and will try it for a month. My follow-up appointment with my psychiatrist is in September, so that should give me some time to see how I respond to it. I’m curious to see whether I notice any difference in my ability to focus and stay on task. I’m also hoping I don’t experience any unpleasant side effects. For now, all I can really do is take it as prescribed and pay attention to how I feel. I’m cautiously optimistic, even though I’m still a little nervous.
She asked about me being in therapy. I told her how my therapist started at a new clinic and I’m now on a waiting list. I wonder how long I will be waiting. I wonder if I should get a referral to some therapists that may take my insurance. I think I’m doing ok right now. I think I’ll give it a while. I’m sure I will get lined up with a therapist sometime soon.
On a completely unrelated note, the weather has changed its mind again. Earlier this week, my weather app said it was going to rain pretty much all week. I was actually looking forward to it. I like having rainy days every once in a while, especially when I’m not required to go anywhere. Something is comforting about hearing the rain outside and having a good excuse to stay inside.
Now, though, the app says it’s going to be sunny all week. Apparently, the rain that I was expecting has decided not to show up after all. I know sunny weather is generally considered a good thing, but I was really looking forward to the rain. It would have been nice to have a few cloudy, rainy days instead of the usual sunshine. Maybe the forecast will change again. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised.
I’ve been doing a lot of quizzes on cloud computing, and I’m finally starting to feel like the differences between IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS are really clicking. At first, I had trouble distinguishing them because they can seem pretty similar, especially when you’re looking at scenario-based questions. The quizzes have helped me understand what the cloud provider manages versus what the customer is responsible for. I’m also getting better at recognizing when a scenario is describing infrastructure, a development platform, or a complete software solution. I still want to keep practicing, but I feel like I’m finally getting a solid grasp of the different cloud service models.
Oh! It’s actually raining outside! Karissa just brought Merlin inside. We don’t have Everest today since Chris isn’t feeling that great and stayed home. I’m going to make myself some hot tea.
I made some tzatziki sauce and cut up some vegetables for Tommy’s work lunches. Then I made some hot tea and am now thinking of reading. I feel like today is Thursday, but that is tomorrow.
