A rambly kind of day

I’ve spent part of this morning reading my cybersecurity book. My focus hasn’t been the greatest today, and I’ve caught myself rereading a few sections here and there, but I’m still making progress. Even if I’m not moving as quickly as I’d like, I’m doing alright, and that’s what matters.

Kel is home today. Her dad had to go to the emergency room last night, so I’m not sure what time she finally made it home this morning. I think he’s still in the hospital, and I really hope everything is okay. I know that has to be stressful for both of them.

Kel and I ran to the store a little while ago. She picked up some ham and cheese so we could have sandwiches for lunch. I’m just having half of a sandwich today since I’m trying to be more mindful of what I’m eating. She also gave me a small bag of SmartFood popcorn. It’s only 80 calories, so I may eat it later if I’m still hungry. I’m trying to listen to my hunger instead of eating just because the food is there.

Alexis will be moving into her on-campus apartment soon, which is exciting. She ordered a few things from Amazon to get ready for the move. Living out in a rural area means Amazon deliveries usually come through USPS, so I’ve been wondering if everything will arrive before she leaves. Thankfully, she still has almost two weeks, so there’s a good chance it will all get here in time. If I remember correctly, both girls start school on the 18th. Summer always seems to fly by, and before you know it, it’s time for another school year.

There really doesn’t seem to be much happening today. It’s one of those quiet days where everything feels pretty ordinary. Those kinds of days can be nice, even if they don’t make for the most exciting journal entries.

Something fun, though: I have three Disney pins now! One is Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and the other two are Cheshire Cat pins. I’ve noticed Disney pin trading and collecting seems to be more popular than ever in the parks. I’m not into trading, but I’m into collecting. Now I just need to get a lanyard, so I have somewhere to display them.

I’m also back to logging my food again. We’ll see how long I stick with it this time. The last time I managed about two or three weeks before I gradually stopped. Tommy has the paid version of the app, so he can simply scan barcodes. I’m using the free version, which means I have to type everything in manually. Honestly, I don’t mind. It only takes a minute or two, and if it helps me stay accountable, it’s worth the extra effort.

Have you ever wanted to write but had absolutely no idea what to write about? That’s exactly how I’m feeling today. I have the urge to put words on the page, but my mind keeps coming up empty. Maybe not every journal entry has to be filled with exciting events or deep thoughts. Sometimes it’s enough to simply capture an ordinary day, the little errands, the conversations, the hopes, the worries, and the small moments that might not seem important now but could be interesting to look back on someday.

But it still doesn’t change the fact that I want to write about something that isn’t just a list of what I’ve done today.

I’m going to visit Japan next year. And do you know what Japan is known for? Besides their food, culture, technology, and anime. They are known for their stationery! I do have some Japanese stationery already, but I’d love to visit a stationery store there and browse around.

I remembered that I have a refill left on my ear drops. So I refilled them on the Walmart app. Yes, my right ear is hurting again. I may have an ear infection. Since I have a refill on my ear drops, I thought maybe I should refill it and take it. Sigh. At least it started hurting after my trip. I have this powder medication for my ears, which helps dry my ears out. But I didn’t take the medication with me on the trip because it’s a white powder and I felt that it may not be taken well when bringing that through TSA.

My nails are growing. My nail polish is still on my nails. I wonder if I should just cut my nails. Then it would look really weird because some of the polish would still be on my nail. No, I don’t have any nail polish remover. I guess I will let my nails grow out a little more and then either file them down or cut them.

I put my Cheshire Cat ears from Disney World on my Moogle that I have on my desk. It seemed like a good place for it. And my Coca-Cola bear is on my desk. They had a few Coca-Cola bears to choose from; I got the one that says “Walt Disney World” on the front. I wanted it to say it’s from Disney World since it’s from there.

I still don’t have anything profound to write about. So, I guess I will just ramble on about more nonsensical stuff.

I’m running very low on leave-in conditioner for my hair. I haven’t been able to buy any, but I will probably need to buy one soon. I like the Ouai leave-in conditioner. That’s my favorite one. It seems to work well, and it smells good. My hair is feeling better now that I’m using our normal shampoo and conditioner. While we were on the trip, I didn’t bring any shampoo or conditioner, so I used the hair/body wash stuff the ship had. My hair became so frizzy and dry. I’m happy that my hair is back to normal.

When I was at Disney World, I walked a good 18k to 21k steps in a day. On the 21st, I walked over 21k steps. The rest of the days were between 18k and 20k steps. With the food I was eating, it is probably good that I got a lot of steps in those days. On the ship, I didn’t get a lot of steps in. Except for when we were at CocoCay. I walked over 16k steps that day. Mostly from walking back and forth to CocoCay.

Look at this. It’s a charm for a Kindle. Of course, I would need to get a case for my Kindle, and I can use this to put the charm on my Kindle. It’s pretty. But the cases I’ve been looking at don’t really protect the screen too much. So I’m not exactly sure what kind of case to get for my Kindle. Maybe those clear plastic ones?

I just got a text that my ear drops are ready at Walmart. I do believe that my health insurance is back. Now for Alexis to refill her medication.

Final Fantasy XIV is now on Switch 2. Not sure how that all works, but it seems interesting. A new expansion for the game is coming in January. I should probably finish the main scenario quests before then. The summer event is coming on August 12th. New mount and furnishing items that I will get and never place in my housing. Lol. They have a new mount out, but to get it you have to buy or gift three FFXIV Twitch subscriptions. Bummer. I don’t watch Twitch. I do follow some FFXIV accounts on Twitch, but I never actually watch the accounts.

We need a Jollibee’s near us. That would be so cool. I want some Filipino spaghetti.

I suppose I should post this now. I’m running out of rambles to ramble about.

I lost ten pounds this past month. I’m very happy about that. I need to keep that up. On another note, I want to bake something. See, I need to keep working out to support my love for baking.

While I was walking down Main Street USA in Disney World, I came upon a store that said Bakery. I told Tommy that we had to check out the bakery. It turned out to be a Starbucks. A Starbucks inside Disney World. Ya know, they really don’t need a Starbucks inside Disney World. But it was busy.

The Utopia of the Seas had a Starbucks inside their ship too. We didn’t get anything from Starbucks on the ship. We did get Starbucks at Disney World. I needed an iced coffee.

I’m going to post this now. I just spent the last 45 minutes rambling in my journal. But it was fun. It’s past 4 now, and I should wrap up my journal for the day.

I cleaned up my makeup/beauty drawer in my dresser. My mini pink makeup case fits in my drawer now. I’m happy. Now I need to clean the top of my dresser. It’s a little messy. I need to organize it better.

Maybe that will be a tomorrow job. I need a step stool to clean it. Yes, I’m short. I like to be able to see the top of my dresser better when I’m cleaning it.

I have a new eyeglasses prescription. I’m not too sure where the paper is. Maybe in my desk where I store my papers. Hopefully.
