Another random day

I put on perfume every day. Not because I feel like I need it. Nobody is standing outside my bedroom door every morning conducting a fragrance inspection. I just like it. It makes me feel good. A little more put together. A little more ready to face the day.

Usually I wear a vanilla scent. But today I decided to go with Chanel Bleu. I have one of those little sample-size bottles, so I figured, why not? I actually really like it. It’s woodsy and clean and a little more sophisticated than my usual “I would like to smell like vanilla” routine.

The funny thing is that it’s a men’s fragrance. Or is it called cologne when it’s for men? I honestly don’t know. At some point the fragrance industry decided we needed completely different words for things that basically accomplish the same task: smelling nice.

I also decided to do my brows this morning. No particular reason. I just woke up, and apparently my eyebrows had been summoned to participate in the day.

I used Benefit Gimme Brow+ Tinted Volumizing Eyebrow Gel. I go back and forth between that and Glossier Boy Brow, and they both work just fine. I don’t need much. Just enough to make my brows look like I intentionally put them there instead of letting nature continue its experiment.

I firmly believe that if you want to look put together but don’t feel like wearing makeup, just do your brows. That’s it. Brows are doing a lot of heavy lifting. You can skip foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, lipstick… the entire production …and just brush your eyebrows into place. Suddenly you look like you have your life together.

Whether you actually have your life together is none of anyone else’s business.

Then I called the health insurance company again. Because somehow I enjoy starting my day with a little administrative suffering. I found out that they don’t authorize Foundayo. So I asked them what they do authorize, because I figured I might as well get some useful information out of the conversation. They told me they authorize Ozempic and Liraglutide.

Well. That sucks.

Not exactly the answer I was hoping for, but at least now I know what the insurance company is willing to cover. I’m going to talk to my provider in October about the different medication options, weight loss, and what she thinks makes sense. I’d rather have that conversation with her and figure out what my options are than spend more time trying to decipher the mysterious language of health insurance.

In the meantime, I called Walmart and told them to stop trying to refill Foundayo. They try every Friday. Every. Friday. At this point, I’m starting to feel like Walmart, and I have a standing appointment.

I packed my backpack for the camping trip. I have two backpacks. My teal Fjällräven Kånken backpack is for my clothes, toiletries, and medication, while my pink Osprey backpack is for my hiking shoes, sweater, and rain jacket. And anything else that I remember. I think that is the best way to pack. For me, anyway. Tommy bought an outdoor blanket that I believe has armholes so you can wear it. I’m excited to use it.

I also rode the bike today. Tommy has practice tonight, so I’m not sure what the rest of us are having for dinner. I’ll find something. I’m done studying for the day. I’m not sure what I want to do now. Maybe play Final Fantasy XIV or watch something? Maybe read? Oh, I know! I need to print out some pictures from my phone from Disney World and put them in my memory journal. I’m a bit behind on my memory journal. I’m going to put sticker paper into the printer and start that.
