More rain

I’m not really sure what to write about today. It was one of those days where I stayed busy, but nothing really stood out. I spent most of the day looking for a job and applying. I even applied at Walmart and Smith’s. I’m trying to keep putting myself out there and reminding myself that eventually, something will work out. They say it’s easier to find a job when you already have a job, which seems a little backwards, but I understand what they mean. I’m just hoping to find something that will give me a chance and get me moving in the right direction.

Mentally, I do feel better today. That’s something I’m grateful for. I’ve been trying to pay more attention to how I’m feeling and take things one day at a time. I also managed to take all of my medication on time today. That might seem like a small thing, but it actually feels like an accomplishment. I sometimes forget to take my afternoon medication at noon and end up taking it later in the day. Today, though, I remembered and took it right on time. It felt good to stay on track.

I also got some things done around the house. I washed the dogs’ bedding and towels, which definitely needed to be done. Sometimes accomplishing even one or two simple things can make the day feel a little more productive.

It’s still raining outside, and it has been raining pretty much all day. I actually do like the rain. There’s something peaceful and comforting about listening to it, especially when I’m inside. But there can definitely be too much of a good thing. When it rains this much, it can start causing problems, and I worry about flooding and everything else that comes with so much water.

Tommy and I have been telling Alexis to be careful with the bad weather we’ve been having. Apparently it hasn’t rained much where she is.

The dogs certainly aren’t enjoying it as much as I am. They’re getting restless and bored from being stuck inside all day. They have plenty of energy and nowhere to put it! I think they’re ready for the rain to stop so they can get outside and run around again. I can’t blame them. Hopefully, the weather will clear up soon and everyone can get a little fresh air.

Overall, today was fairly ordinary, but I think that’s okay. I looked for work, got some chores done, stayed on schedule with my medication, and most importantly, I felt better mentally than I have been feeling. I have a medication management appointment next week to talk more about my medication.

Tommy doesn’t have practice tonight, so I keep forgetting that it is Thursday. We didn’t do leg day yesterday as we were supposed to, so we are doing it tonight. Normally I’d ride the bike today, but since we are doing leg day, I may ride the bike tomorrow.

I can’t think of much more to write about today. The cursor on the page is taunting me. It just sits there, blinking away with an attitude that feels increasingly personal. I swear it’s judging me.

My mind is drawing a complete blank. I have stared at the screen long enough that I’m beginning to wonder if the computer expects me to communicate through telepathy. Unfortunately, my brain’s Wi-Fi appears to be down.

I’ve tried staring at the ceiling, drinking coffee, staring at the ceiling while drinking coffee, and even pretending to work while staring at the screen. Nothing. Not a single brilliant thought has shown up. Apparently, all of my good ideas have decided to take the day off without bothering to submit a vacation request.

At this point, I’m considering writing about how I can’t think of anything to write about. Which, ironically, is exactly what I’m doing.

So here we are: me, an empty page, and one extremely confident blinking cursor. The cursor is winning.

So, for today, I’m going to go ahead and close this out. I’ve covered everything I wanted to for now, and I think this is a good place to pause. Until next time, take care, and I’ll see you again soon.
